    Rotowire

Duvall went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and a strikeout in a 5-3 loss to the Dodgers on Monday.

Duvall singled in the fifth inning and tacked on a solo home run in the seventh as he was the only Atlanta player to reach base multiple times on Monday. The outfielder is one long ball shy of reaching 30 for the third time and his career high of 33 back in 2016 is well within reach.

Soler went 1-for-4 with a solo home run and a strikeout in Mondays 5-3 loss to the Dodgers.

  • Braves Drew Smyly: Ends winning streak

    Rotowire

Smyly (9-4) took the loss in Mondays 5-3 defeat at the hands of the Dodgers, allowing five runs on nine hits with five strikeouts in 4.2 innings.

Los Angeles powerful lineup got to Smyly early and often, as the 32-year-old surrendered four home runs in the games first three innings. He was fortunate that three of them were of the solo variety, but the early 5-0 deficit proved insurmountable for Atlanta. The loss is Smylys first since May 26, a stretch that included seven victories in 14 starts.

  • Braves Austin Riley: Tees off in blowout win

    Rotowire

Riley went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run Sunday in Atlantas 9-0 win over San Francisco.

Rileys 423-foot blast off Anthony DeSclafani was the second home run of the fourth inning for Atlanta, which received a solo shot from Jorge Soler to lead off the frame. With 14 home runs and a .359/.411/.679 slash line since the All-Star break, the 24-year-old has been one of the majors most prolific power hitters thus far in the second half.

  • Braves Eddie Rosario: Triples, swipes bag

    Rotowire

Rosario went 2-for-5 with a triple, a steal and two RBI in Sundays 9-0 win over the Giants.

Rosario swiped second base after singling in the third inning and later ripped a two-run triple in the sixth. He went 0-for-1 as a pinch hitter Saturday in his first appearance with Atlanta but quickly made an impact in his first start after a stint on the injured list with an abdomen issue. The veteran outfielder is now slashing .257/.298/.396 with 24 extra-base hits through 312 plate appearances this season.

    Rotowire

Albies went 2-for-5 with a home run, a double and two runs scored in Sundays 9-0 win over San Francisco.

Over the previous 11 games, the switch-hitting infielder had just two extra-base hits with a .580 OPS. Factoring in Sundays production, Albies owns a .260/.318/.487 slash line with 83 runs scored and 63 extra-base hits.

  • Braves Ian Anderson: Fires 5.2 scoreless innings

    Rotowire

Anderson (6-5) allowed four hits and two walks over 5.2 shutout innings while earning a win over the Giants on Sunday.

Surprisingly, Anderson managed to produce his first scoreless outing since June 21 despite not striking out a single batter. It was his first appearance since July 11 after a stint on the injured list with a shoulder issue. He took care of the Giants lineup with relative ease as he never allowed an extra-base hit. Anderson now owns a 3.36 ERA through 101.2 innings. Hes projected to start in Colorado next weekend.

    Rotowire

Duvall is out of the lineup Sunday against the Giants.

Duvall has started all 25 games for Atlanta since being acquired from Miami at the end of July, and hell finally take a seat after posting a .738 OPS with six homers and 19 RBI during that stretch. • Braves Edgar Santana: Heads to Triple-A

    Rotowire

Atlanta optioned Santana to Triple-A Gwinnett on Sunday.

Santana was cast off the active roster to make room for starting pitcher Ian Anderson (shoulder), who was reinstated from the 10-day injured list ahead of his scheduled outing Sunday versus the Giants. Though he scooped up fluky wins in three straight relief appearances earlier this month, Santana has worked in largely low-leverage spots out of the Atlanta bullpen this season. Over 37.2 innings, hes recorded a 3.82 ERA, 1.12 WHIP and three holds.

  • Braves Ian Anderson: Reinstated for start

    Rotowire

Atlanta reinstated Anderson (shoulder) from the 10-day injured list ahead of his scheduled start Sunday against the Giants.

Reliever Edgar Santana was sent to Triple-A Gwinnett to open up a spot on the active roster for Anderson, who returns to the mound for the first time since July 11. Anderson seemingly assuaged concerns about the health of his shoulder during a four-start rehab assignment in the minors that culminated with a five-inning, nine-strikeout outing with Gwinnett on Tuesday. He built up to 90 pitches in that start, so he shouldnt face any restrictions Sunday as he rejoins Atlanta.

  • Braves Huascar Ynoa: Records quality start in loss

    Rotowire

Ynoa (4-4) allowed two runs on three hits and three walks with three strikeouts over six innings, taking the loss in Saturdays 5-0 defeat to the Giants.

Ynoa began Saturday night on shaky ground after coughing up a solo homer to Tommy La Stella in the first and allowing another run to score on a La Stella sac fly in the third, but rendered the Giants hitless in his final three innings of work. Though the strikeouts werent there and the three free passes were a season high, Ynoa was able to get through six innings and keep the Braves in it against a hot Giants team. The right-hander figures to pitch next Thursday against the Rockies.
